Alonbl's Thinkpad W500

Following is extension to Gentoo/Linux_Configuration_Common with Thinkpad W500 configuration.

Same guidelines of minimal module only configuration.

  • Use only Intel integrated video controller, it saves power, and Intel have better support for Linux.
  • Use AHCI SATA not compatible mode.

References

There are other variant of documentations, however I find them difficult to maintain, as a computer is container of its hardware, so laptop article should contain minimal information and reference to its hardware components.
